Quote" "Jim is starting to get good at Jedi mind tricks, also."

Hehe.

Quote: "I love it when he lets me have his desserts."

That is a true knight, I don't share my desserts.

I loved Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It had lots and
lots of action, characters that I cared about, a little
humor, and a little romance.

Oh, and I forgot to mention there are a couple of scenes during
the beginning of the credits, you don't have to stay very long.

They have been doing that lately.  We watched "H-a-n-c-o-c-k" on STARZ last night and they did the same thing with that!

Thanks for the warning.

We will be waiting for Transformers 2 to come out on DVD.

Cheesy
I loved  Public Enemies with Johnny Depp. I knew it would
end in tears, but I still went and saw it. I will probably
go and see it again on Sunday. The acting was wonderful.
There were lots of guns, but also some romance. Johnny
dances a little and sings a little. There were lots of old cars,
a steam engine train, and a Ford Tri-Motor airplane.

I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Wednesday
afternoon. I loved the characters. It was a gorgeous, fun,
and sad movie.

About 40 minutes before showtime, suddenly a guy in a
RotS!Obi-Wan costume charges into our auditorium from the
right at the same time a guy decked out as RotS!Anakin
charges in from the left (both costumes were halfway
decent). Both briefly spar with cheap toy lightsabers, then
have an exchange along these lines:

Obi-Wan: I've failed you, Anakin! I have failed.
Anakin: I should have known that Dumbledore was trying to
take over!
Obi-Wan: Anakin, Lord Voldemort is evil!
Anakin: In my opinion, it is Dumbledore who is evil!
Obi-Wan: Then you are lost!

Fierce and surprisingly impressive dueling with
aforementioned cheap toy lightsabers ensues, ending in
Obi-Wan besting Anakin, who screams "I hate you!" (sounding
more like petulant AotC Anakin). The audience roars with
laughter. Our two guest entertainers turn to us and join
hands and quickly bow to a huge round of applause, then with
a hurried thanks rush out of the auditorium. I'd joked
earlier that I should have brought my lightsaber to the
show, and now I kind of wish I had. Wink

Emmy’s are Diggin’ the Geeks
by Paula
The Emmy Award Nominations are out and the geeks seem to be
doing the same as always.  But hey, the folks who do all the
technical stuff work hard on it.  Let’s congratulate the
great crew of our favorite geeky shows on jobs well done.
(And there are some major ones in there.)

I expect Obi-Wan and Anakin will be visiting us shortly.

You see, one year not too long ago, we were out talking with our neighbor, Bill, about the weed abatement program the City Of McCall was planning for a particularly voracious species.

I believe it is a variety of pig weed or something to that effect.  Bill kept referring to it as Hogwarts and no matter how I tried to convince him that Hogwarts only grow in England Grin he was just sure that was what it had to be.

I enjoyed G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra with Ray Park and
Rachel Nichols (Shana 'Scarlett' O'Hara, she also played
Gaila the red-headed Orion in Star Trek). It had lots of
action and some great martial arts fight scenes.

McGregor and George Clooney yesterday. I loved it. It
was so funny. The audience I saw it with laughed a lot.

Hehe.

I loved Ninja Assassin, rated R. It had action, violence,
and blood. I think Rain did a lot of his own stunts, poetry
in motion. Written by Matthew Sand and J. Michael
Straczynski.

We talked to Nick on the telephone last night.  He and Dana had gone to see it the night before.  They loved it, too!  They said the 3-D glasses they used were similar to the ones we used in the Star Trek interactive tours in Las Vegas, so when the movie comes out on DVD, I will be able to see through those as I cannot see through the traditional 3-D glasses.

I had to wait for "Avatar" to come out on DVD but I got a chance to watch it tonight and all I can say is "thank you" to the people responsible for this movie.

The live action and CGI interaction were flawless and breathtaking.  The unique life forms and energy forms of the Na'Vi were so beautiful that you just wanted to be there.

Jim had told me that this movie was considered to be controversial because it was considered "religious".  I said, "Well, yeah, my religion!"  This movie is about not only respect for other sentient beings in the universe but for all life even down to the tiniest plant.  It is about awareness of the living energy that runs through everyone and everything.

I highly, highly recommend that if you missed seeing this in the theater, you purchase it or rent it.  Like Betta1 said, you will care about the characters and you will most likely cry.
